How it works
A price in writing before anything is ordered
Step 1: Tell us the job
Send the form or ring 1300 433 695. Your suburb and a few lines about the job are enough to start.
Step 2: Get your price in writing
We send the full installed price in writing, GST included. For air conditioning we work it out from your home's measurements, and if we have not been through your home yet, a free site visit confirms the figure before anything is ordered.
Step 3: We do the job you said yes to
When it is finished, we walk you through what we did and how to use it.
How we work
What quality looks like in your home
Most of what we do, you will only ever notice if it is done badly, so we take our time over it.
Electrical work done right
Before we start, we tell you which parts of the house will be without power, and when. We keep the wiring inside your switchboard and ceiling tidy, because it stays in your home long after we leave.
Air conditioning installed neatly
The pipework runs straight and covered along the wall, and the outdoor unit sits level on its bracket or base. You will see it every day, so it should look like it belongs there.
We tell you what we find
If your switchboard cannot take the new work as it is, we explain why and price what it needs before we go any further. If we see something unsafe, we tell you in writing.
Cleaning up is part of the job
We cover the floors, and we photograph where we will be working before we start and again when we finish. Anything we damage, we fix. Access holes are patched ready for paint, and the old equipment and every offcut leave with us.

What we do
Electrical and air conditioning from one company
Most homes need both sooner or later, and the jobs overlap. A switchboard upgrade is the right time to plan for an EV charger or a granny flat, and a new air conditioner needs room on that board. We plan the whole house, not one job at a time.

Switchboard upgrades
One of our switchboard upgrades, before and after
If your switchboard still has ceramic fuses like the before photo, this is the job that brings it up to date. Each RCBO on the new board is a circuit breaker and safety switch in one: the breaker protects the wiring, and the safety switch protects the people in the house.
Our warranty
7 years on air conditioning we supply and install
Every air conditioning system we supply and install carries our installation workmanship warranty for 7 years, counted from the day we commission it. You get it in writing once the job is paid in full: a certificate, a service logbook and yearly service reminders.
- The ducting, and every penetration we make through your walls and ceilings
- Mounting the indoor and outdoor units
- The condensate drainage, the drain that carries water away from the indoor unit
- The commissioning, setting the system up and testing it before we hand over
The one condition is a service at least once every 12 months by a licensed air conditioning technician.
Not covered: storm, flood, fire, lightning or surge damage, someone else's work on the system, and a filter that was never cleaned. The equipment carries its maker's warranty. Our electrical work carries 12 months, including the circuit and isolator we fit with your air conditioner, and so do our repairs.
Why Virtas
What you can hold us to
The price holds.
Your quote is the full installed price, GST included, for the job as described, and it holds until the date on it. If something turns up that nobody could have seen, we stop, show you and price it in writing. Nothing extra is done without your yes.
Systems sized right, not sold big.
We work the size out room by room from your home's measurements and quote the size the house needs. If a size up is worth it for your house, we show you what it costs and why. We tell you what to expect in your house rather than quote a temperature, because insulation, glass and how you run it matter as much as the machine.
One company across both trades.
Electrical and air conditioning are planned together, so the board has room for what you add next and nothing is done twice. One quote to read, and one number to ring if anything is ever not right.
We turn up.
We book a day and we turn up on it. If stock, weather or a job ahead of yours moves it, you hear it from us as soon as we know, with the next date we can do. If that is more than four weeks after the date we agreed, you can cancel and get your deposit back in full.

Who we are
Building a group, not a trade
I started Virtas to build the sort of company its people are proud to represent, because the way we look after each other is the way we will look after you.
- Our mission
- To make a great quality of work our standard, done on time by people who are easy to deal with.
- Where we are going
- To grow together into a long standing trades group Perth relies on for electrical and air conditioning.
None of that is mine alone. It belongs just as much to the people who work for us and alongside us, and what holds it all together is the culture we are building from within.
I want Virtas to be a place where people have each other's backs and put their name to the work, where nobody stops learning and everyone is straight with one another. You will feel that in how your job runs and in the straight answer you get.

FAQ
Questions people ask
How does pricing work?
Every quote is one price in writing for the job as described, GST included, held until the date printed on it. For a new air conditioning system we work it out from your home's measurements. If we have already been through your home, that is the price, locked in. If we have not, a free site visit confirms the final figure before anything is ordered. A service or repair visit works differently: it is booked at a rate we tell you when you book, which covers the travel and finding the fault, and you pay for the visit even if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.
What are the signs a switchboard needs upgrading?
Old ceramic fuses are the sign with a rule behind it: they can no longer go into new work. The Wiring Rules do not make you take out fuses that still work, but a fuse only protects the wiring. A safety switch is what protects people, so a fuse board with no safety switch is the first thing we look at. Lights that brighten and dim for no reason, or a tingle from a tap, are different: ring Western Power on 13 13 51 first.
Do I need safety switches to sell or rent my home in WA?
Yes. Before the title transfers, before the owner enters into a tenancy agreement, or before the home is made available as a short stay, the owner must have safety switches on the power points and lights: at least two in a home with more than one circuit, each 30 mA, with no more than three circuits on any one. Smoke alarms have rules of their own when a home is sold or rented, including whether they work, how long ago they were installed and whether they must be mains powered. We check both and quote what is missing.
What does a three phase upgrade involve?
Three phase is not available at every address, so Western Power checks yours first. If it is, we apply to them for the conversion as your electrical contractor, then do the work at the meter box and switchboard. Western Power's side runs on their timing and their fees, and we tell you both before you decide.
Do I need three phase for an EV charger?
Not for a 7 kW single phase charger. Western Power allows one on a single phase home, as long as the supply can carry it, and we check that before your price is final. If three phase is right for other reasons, we tell you why.
Can you power a granny flat, shed or workshop?
Yes. We check your supply and switchboard can carry the extra load first. If they cannot, the answer may be a switchboard upgrade or three phase, and we tell you that, with the price, before you decide.
How do you work out what size system I need?
Room by room, before anything is ordered. From your home's measurements we work out how much heat each room takes on, then size the system to what the house needs, so you are not paying for capacity you will never use. Before you buy, we tell you what to expect for your place rather than a temperature in degrees, because how a house holds up on the hottest days also depends on its insulation, glazing, ceiling height and how it is run.
Should I get ducted or split systems?
Ducted heats and cools the whole house from one system, with the indoor unit out of sight in the ceiling space, and it can be zoned so you run only the rooms you are in. Split systems suit a few rooms, or a home where ducting is hard to fit. We install both, so we look at how you actually use the house and tell you which makes sense for it.
How often should my air conditioning be serviced?
Once every 12 months. On air conditioning we supply and install, that yearly service is the one condition we set on our 7 year installation workmanship warranty, which runs from the day we commission the system. The service is done by a licensed air conditioning technician. Between services, wash the filter. We show you how at handover, and damage from a filter that was never cleaned is one of the things the warranty does not cover.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed and insured. Our electrical contractor licence is EC18158 and our refrigerant trading authorisation is AU069964. Both numbers are at the foot of every page, and you can check an electrical contractor's licence yourself on Building and Energy's online licence search.
